Megan Blanton

 

Megan Blanton has been dancing since she was the age of three.  She started taking classes and competing with Starmakers Dance Company in 2006. She performed and competed in Clogging, Tap, Irish, Jazz and Hip-Hop. After graduating high school, she went to Anderson University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre/Dance. While at Anderson, she choreographed for dance studios in the area and theatres including Stagecraft Theatre for Kids and The Market Theatre. She choreographed musicals such as Beauty and the BeastTarzanThe Addams Family and 9 to 5. She performed and was dance captain for shows like Mary Poppins and White Christmas while studying at Anderson. She assisted in dance classes at Anderson University and her choreography was showcased in multiple performances such as Saint Joan, Me and My Girl and the annual Presidents Gala. Megan currently lives in Spartanburg, SC and teaches at multiple studios in the area and at the Spartanburg Youth Theatre. 


Lena Bledsoe is a junior BFA acting major at the South Carolina School of the Arts. You may recognize her from our summer camps over the past few years where she has been a counselor, choreographer, and most recently our director! A few of her past acting credits include Maire in Translations at SCSA, Serena in Legally Blonde at Market theatre, and she has acted in the last three Shakespeare in the Park’s here in town at Wren Park. Over the summer she was a lead in a short film that premiered this past month at Georgia Southern. The film was selected to be in the Ogeechee International History Film Festival.  She has worked with children for over 7 years and hopes to continue her work in her professional career. “I can’t wait to be back with all my stagecraft kids and working with one of my good friends Nick Holland! Sing! is going to be such a blast!”

Drew Kenyon

Drew Kenyon has been involved in Anderson and Upstate theatre, on and off stage, for about five years thus far. As a Grayson, GA native, he found his passion for acting as a high schooler. He has also cultivated a large passion for directing, stage managing, Shakespeare, and theatre history, but he dabbles in every corner of the theatre arts! He has studied acting at Anderson University's South Carolina School of the Arts, as well as under prominent Anderson and Upstate directors such as David Larson, Robert Homer-Drummond, Noah Taylor, and Christopher Rose. He has utilized the acting techniques of Stanislavski, Adler, Hagan, and Chekhov throughout his acting career in a handful of theaters across the Upstate. He has taught and directed at the Anderson University Repertory Theatre for the past three years, as well as having being hired as the intern production assistant for the 2016/17 season at The Market Theatre Company. He is currently employed by Centre Stage in Greenville as a stage manager, as well as an assistant director at the Anderson University Playhouse. 


Nick Holland is a BFA acting major at Anderson University; since being at Anderson he has taken every opportunity he could and has been in multiple productions on stage, while helping backstage as well. Some of his recent productions have been Translations, Taming of the Shrew, and Othello, he also has been the lighting designer for three student led productions at Anderson University and the official lighting designer for Sylvia at Market Theater.
