This Spring, Stagecraft has class options to fit any schedule!

THEATRE ARTS CLASSES
AGES 4-18

Stagecraft offers two class sessions each school year for kids ages 4-18.  These after-school classes are offered in drama, music, dance, musical theater, areas of technical specialty, and much more! Students will enjoy weekly two-hour classes and then perform what they’ve learned in a high energy Showcase for family and friends.  Students develop their skills by learning from experienced teachers, performers and technicians while having fun and making friends! Enrolled students, ages 8-18, also are eligible to audition for  Stagecraft's Next Main stage Production!

MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE
Ages 8-18

Back by popular demand, Stagecraft is offering this exciting and challenging alternative to our traditional ten week classes! Students ages 8 & up can sign up for this one-weekend intensive and qualify to audition for Stagecraft’s next mainstage production. The intensive will offer the same number of hours of theater training as a ten week class, condensed into a challenging one-weekend experience. This new format offers a great opportunity for those students who want to audition for a Stagecraft show but are busy during the week with other school obligations or dance studio classes. With all the fun and quality instruction of a normal Stagecraft session, and a showcase to top it all off, this weekend is sure to be amazing!

Rising Stars (for kids 4-7)

In this class, young performers will learn to use their imagination to act and explore basic elements of theater. Students will practice story telling and character development through creative drama activities such as games, role-play, art, music and movement. At the end of the class session they will proudly present their own ten-minute showcase.

Equipping Young Actors (ages 8-12)

Become a character form head to toe!  Explore the building blocks of acting through theater games, storytelling, role playing, and character work.  This class will equip young actors with the tools to feel more comfortable and confident when stepping onto stage.  Great for new students as well as students that would like to grow as actors.

Dancing (Ages 8-12)

In each class we will focus on two major dance styles, Jazz and Ballet. We will be learning proper technique creating a foundation for students to take with them on their theatrical journey. Through a series of across the floor exercises, students will learn basic movements that will be incorporated into fun center combinations exposing them to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, street and contemporary.

Makeup (6th, 7th, and 8th graders)

This theatrical make-up course is designed to develop an appreciation for the skill and techniques used in designing and applying makeup in theater as well as teaching the basics of theater make-up.  Students will learn to enhance basic features of an actor using theatrical make-up, demonstrate make-up techniques to create the look of “old age”, “evil”, “glamor”, and an “animal”.  Also learn the techniques associated with wounds and blood.
This class may require an additional cost of makeup or supplies. We will keep it very minimal but some things don’t need to be shared!

Music (Ages 13-18)

The Broadway Vocal Class gives actors a chance to explore Musical Theater through singing.  Featuring songs by  Ben Pasek and Justin Paul, students will work on Broadway songs as an ensemble.  Technical coaching including breath support for both sound and interpretation, posture, and the arc of the song’s story and harmonies. Students will enhance their vocal performance technique while working as an ensemble to bring these great Broadway numbers to life.  Songs may include but aren't limited to Come Alive (Greatest Showman) and selections from Dear Evan Hansen.
